Social Support for Students (2026–2027)

From July 1, 2026, applications for social support for students for the 2026–2027 school year are accepted.

What support can be provided?

Free meals (breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack, and meals at summer camps);
Support for student school supplies – EUR 148 per calendar year (provided once a year).

Preschoolers and Grades 1–2

Free lunch is provided automatically – no separate application is needed;
Free breakfast, afternoon snacks, and supply support – application is required.

Who can receive support?

Social support is provided to students under 21 years of age who study at:

General education schools;
Vocational education institutions, if they only study under a general education curriculum;
Pre-school education schools (nurseries-kindergartens) under a pre-primary education curriculum;
Other education providers (except free teachers).

Social support is not provided to students:

Who study under a general education curriculum with a vocational training curriculum;
Persons older than 21 who study under adult education curricula;
Who are fully supported by state or municipality funded institutions;
For whom temporary or permanent guardianship (care) is established.

When is support provided?

Social support is provided, taking family income into account, when the income per person is:

Up to 1.5 SSI (EUR 349.50)

provided without additional conditions;

Up to 2 SSI (EUR 466)

provided under specific circumstances (illness, accident, loss of breadwinner, single parent, 3+ children, or disabled family member);

Up to 2.5 SSI (EUR 582.50)

provided in exceptional cases (fire, war refugees/Ukrainians (since 2022-02-24), loss of breadwinner, disability, or social risk).

Who can submit an application?

One of the student's parents or a guardian;
Other cohabiting adults or a student of legal age;
A student from 14 to 18 years of age, with parental consent.

Where and how to submit an application?

To the Social Benefits Department:

Electronically via SPIS (www.spis.lt or www.paslaugos.vilnius.lt);
By email to sis@vilnius.lt (signed with a secure e-signature);
Via the E-delivery system (epristatymas.lt);
By registered mail to: Socialinių išmokų skyrius, Konstitucijos pr. 3, LT-09308 Vilnius;
At the Client Service Center of the Social Benefits Department (+370 800 35545, registration required).

To the school administration:

The application can be submitted at the school where the student studies. The school will transfer it to the Social Benefits Department no later than the next business day.
